What is the difference between lip filler and lip blush?

Lip Filler is as it says on the tin, hyaluronic acid in a gel like consistency is carefully injected into the lips to give them more shape, definition and fullness – whilst lip blush is a semi permanent ink that is tattooed into the lip tissue giving immediate colour and definition.

Which lip treatment should I have?

Lip filler

If you are looking for fuller lips then lip filler is for you. Lip filler is good for people who are looking for their lip size to get bigger. As we age, we lose the natural plumpness in our tissue so filler is a fantastic way to add some volume we lose in the lips.

Depending on the look we are aiming to achieve, and the individual we can chose a different Viscosity of filler to create the perfect lips for you.

We use a cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body which means your body will metabolise the product and over time break it down and naturally get rid of the filler.

Lip filler has an immediate result as the product is carefully injected into the lip tissue allowing us to see the shape and fullness we are aiming to achieve.

There is a chance of swelling and bruising with this treatment and it will take 2 weeks to settle before you can see the final results.

Depending on your body, the filler will usually last between 6 and 12 months.

Lip filler is a great way to address lines around the lips (smokers lines) helping eliminate them.

Lip Blush

If you are happy with your lips fullness, but are looking for some more colour and definition then lip blush is the treatment for you. Using a bespoke colour we will add colour to the borders of your lips where we lose the colour first and then we will blush the colour into the lip tissue. Again, depending on the look we are aiming to achieve, we can add the colour as light blush or a more dense ‘lipstick’ effect. Each lip blush treatment is bespoke to the individual and the desired look. If you have a favourite lipstick you wear everyday then we can aim to match the colour

Lip blush is a 2 stage treatment that isn’t deemed complete until you have attended your 2nd session with us. This is usually within 6-8 weeks from the initial treatment. On the top-up session we can tweak the colour if required.

The lip blush treatment will last between 12-18 months.

Can I have both lip blush and lip filler?

If you would like to add fullness, colour and definition then yes of course you can have both treatments. It doesn’t really matter which way around you have the treatments, however we do recommend to have filler first. Then you can have your lip blush done 4 weeks after the filler treatment.

I suffer with coldsores, can I have lip treatments?

Yes of course, however we recommend that you speak to your doctor and get a course of acyclovir to take 5 days before and after any lip treatment to prevent a breakout of coldsores. The trauma of the treatments will trigger an outbreak so it is best to prevent where possible. An outbreak of coldsores will effect the healing process of a lip blush treatment more than a filler treatment, but either way its always best to prevent it where possible.

I have a scar in my lip, can I have lip treatments?

Yes of course. If your having a lip blush your technician will talk you through the treatment and expectations of the final outcome. Depending on where the scar is, you may need more than 2 treatments. Scar tissue handles pigment implantation different to the lip tissue – your technician will discuss this with you prior to any treatment.

Scarring wont effect the lip filler treatment, your technician will adapt the product placement for a safe and proper treatment.

Throughout June we are offering all lip treatments at a discounted rate, and you can book online for any treatment with us.
